What do you like at Nautilus Cove?
What do you dislike?
What should change in order to make NCC a better place to live?

Like: 1) The grounds - when they pick up the trash and the lawn service has done a decent job of mowing etc. 2) The pool area.
Dislike: 1) Garbage dumpster and people who pile up stuff there instead of putting it in the dumpster and also those who sack up their garbage and put it outside until they happen to head to the dumpster. 2) Hard to find anyone at the office or maybe they are there and just not unlocking the door?

One thing that goes back to the early days of the condo is that Pelican Realty and the Developer advertised that the complex had a 'heated pool'.
This got my attention as I had lived over 5 years at one of the very rare condos in S. Fla that had a heated outdoor pool so this was a feature that really got my attention.
I purchased in May 2007, left in Sept and came back about Feb/or March 08. No heated pool. I asked the office why the pool was not heated and got the reply that "No one ever said it was a heated pool, it is just a pool that is capable of being heated".
Of course that was total BS. Using an email address not known to the realty firm I wrote asking several simple questions, including whether or not the pool was heated. Back came the answer 'YES, it is a heated pool'.
I rate Realtors about the same as Used Car Salesmen.

;D The 5 page letter Mrs Simmons put out asked for comments. Here are mine about the grill issue: The problem has been with us for years, 2 CAM's from Concord and 1 from Seagrove on the Beach tried to get it sorted out. More recently it seemed to have been taken in hand and few grills were to be found outside. Of course some were kept inside and brought out for a few hours at a time. You are going in the wrong direction by allowing ANY sort of private grill here and you would be undoing the considerable effort already put into the matter. See: nccgrills.blogspot.com/ No private grills, whether with gas or charcoal should be allowed anywhere on the property. Not even at the established grill sites. It is far to easy to have our poorly made wooden buildings catch fire because someone thought that they had put out the grills before they put them back in their unit. I suspect that there is a major insurance issue here if you start allowing any private grills at all. If one of the 8 or 16 unit buildings burn down because a hot grill was put into a closet or moved up next to the building you might find that this would invalidate our coverage. The original documents banned any grills except those established initially by the developer, all well away from the buildings (not 10 ft), so if you think that more grills are needed then the Assn should furnish them, put in more authorized grill sites or even add another grill at existing sites. Private grills of any nature should not be allowed anywhere on the property. Bill Harris

Seems like a pretty nice place. Cannot ever get anyone to answer the phone at the office. What's up with that? Was thinking about buying but have concerns about renters having pets. I thought that was against the HOA rules??? I know they were renters because I talked to them and they told me that nobody checks.

Simple, pets are not allowed for tenants or guests. Even the management firm that rents out those unsold units has changed their advertisements to reflect the no pets for tenants policy. Clearly someone has slipped under the radar and should be reported to the board or management firm. Someone said that there were only twenty something Owners who live on the property and those people are the only ones who can have any pet. Once there was a big problem with dog poop, that should have been taken care of with the no pets policy. Owners take better care of the property than those who rent, so enforcing the policy is a must. Report those units who should not have pets so something can be done about it.

We rent our unit out so we are not on the property often, so anyone up on these items?
* What was decided on residents having their own grills?
* Why did the 'old' lawnservice get fired/quit?
* Another thread has info on the maint. man quitting or getting fired - why so much turnover in this position? Also does the maint. guy work for Concord or for the Nautilus Cove Condo Assn?
